About Me

My name is Andy, I retired from the Metropolitan Police Service in 2015 following 30 years exemplary service during which I attained the Police Advanced Driving classification following six weeks training at the Hendon Driver Training School. This is a highly sought after course developing skills in driver observation, vehicle handling and making progress safely plus pursuit procedures. Only a small percentage of officers attain this qualification. I used these skills for many years in South London. I later joined the Mounted Section where I assisted with training riders and horses and attained an instructional qualification in that field.

I am 55 years old, married with two children and have lived in Sevenoaks, in Kent for 20 years. I have been a fully qualified DVSA approved driving instructor for six years and until recently was part of the Better Driver Training driving school franchise. I have continued my development with further certificated professional development courses in applied coaching and Neurodiversity . I am a member of both local and national driving instructors organisations which hold regular meetings which enhance awareness of new legislation and education for driving and instruction.
